Trying (desperately) to get around Hong Kong on a very rainy Saturday

Now that I’ve recovered, I’d like to give a big “thank you!” to Expatially Mexico, Global Anni, and Fly Away Home for nominating me for several blogging awards last week! I am truly honored. Details here.

    • When it rains hard everyone wants a taxi and the taxi drivers get very picky about where there are willing to go. I simply wanted a quick ride to Kowloon (approx 20 min) but no taxis were willing. Public transport is great here, but only if you’re lucky enough to be going somewhere directly. My house is out of the way and my destination was out of the way so it was a struggle (minibus+MTR+taxi both ways and everything stuck in traffic or jammed with people). Took 2 hours each way…

  1. I understand. I remember once trying to get to an event in a very far away place while it was pouring. No taxi driver would admit to knowing where it was – even though the fare was pretty good. I wound up getting soaked and being very late!
